Enabling 2 Factor Authentication for BLOX access

Web-facing BLOX logins can now be protected by 2FA login challenge.  Any user with direct access to BLOX is now required to enable 2FA on their login to assist with securing the site.

For the staff that already have Cisco Duo you can use the mobile app on your device to link BLOX to the duo 2fa or for those that do not have Duo they can download either Google authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator from the App store.

Log into BLOX and locate your login in the upper right of the screen, from the dropdown choose ‘Account.’

From the resulting window select ‘Set up two-factor authentication’

If you already have Cisco Duo installed or Google or Microsoft Authenticator installed, then click 'Proceed with setup'

Open your 2FA app and click the appropriate ‘Add’ button for the app. you can select add from QR code if it asks.  Use the camera on your device to scan the QR code, and now give the account a recognizable name (it may default to your login, so you will want to change that to something more descriptive like BLOX.)

On your device you will now use the 6-digit code that is generated for that BLOX account and enter it in the appropriate box on the screen above.

2FA has now been successfully configured for your account. Click Done.  and close the manage account window.

Return to the account in the upper right and choose logout, then log back in and you should be presented with a 2FA challenge.

Open your app on your device, locate the BLOX account and enter the current 6 digit number and then click log in.  PLEASE NOTE: Codes only last for 30 seconds before they rotate, review the app when you open and if there are only a few seconds left before the code rotates just wait for the next code, so you have time to enter it.

NEVER PROVIDE YOUR 2FA CODE TO ANYONE, if you are working with IT on an issue, we will always have you enter your own login information and 2fa code on your screen.
