Times-Shamrock Communications uses three major browsers by default. Although we recommend all staff use Microsoft Edge we do allow for the optional use of Firefox and Chrome where required at this time.  From time to time a security event may be announced that requires user interaction to assist in forcing the updates to their workstations.  Manually updating your browsers can be accomplished by following the instructions below.

To be sure your browser is fully up-to-date on a Mac or PC, you have to take slightly different steps for Firefox, Chrome and Edge. 

On Mobile devices update your apps by visiting the App store from your device and choosing the option to update all apps. 

 

 

GOOGLE CHROME

In Google Chrome , use your mouse cursor (or your finger if you're on a touchscreen) to click the three vertical dots at the top right of the browser toolbar, then scroll down to and hover your cursor over Help in the menu that appears. 

 

A fly-out menu will appear; click on " About Google Chrome ," and Chrome will open a new tab listing your version number. If your browser needs an update, this tab will automatically begin the process and then prompt you to relaunch.

 

Relaunch and repeat the process to verify there are no further updates available.

MICROSOFT EDGE

In Microsoft Edge , click the three horizontal dots at the top right of the browser toolbar, then scroll down to and hover your cursor over " Help and feedback" in the menu that appears. 

A fly-out menu will appear; click on " About Microsoft Edge ,"

 

Edge will open a new tab listing your version number. If your browser needs an update, this tab will automatically begin the process and then prompt you to relaunch.

 

Relaunch and then repeat the process to verify that there are no further updates required.

FIREFOX
